Marley & Maverick

Meet Marley and Maverick. In their one and only ‘Cat – Cow’ photo’.

I’m not sure what Marley thinks of Maverick, my new addition. I love Highland cows. They look so mischievous and full of character. I doubt very much if they can actually see where they are going with that fringe. I guess they have heightened senses – just like Marley. Maybe they share this in common. Marley is definitely no ordinary cat that’s for sure. Yep, these two are giving me a lot of comfort and pleasure right now. Another Cat-Cow I’m loving is mostly associated with Yoga. It’s a movement that is easy, accessible, and achievable for many. It has many benefits including Improved posture, balance, and coordination. A great stretch for the spine and gentle stimulation for the organs. The cat-cow is also said to bring emotional balance, relieve stress, and calm the mind.

I could stop here. After all, I hadn’t intended to draw out so many comparisons and write such a long post…..But then I googled the meaning of Maverick. Wikipedia states that: A maverick is an animal, usually a form of cattle, that does not carry a brand…..It is a word also used to describe a person who acts free from constraints or from organisations’ guidelines.’ WOW. I love my new addition even more now! Everyone should become a little more like Maverick and be their own brand; cover their eyes from the pressures to follow the crowd and just go with their own intuition. They say curiosity killed the cat – I say curiosity rescued the cow.

So keep bending, flexing, and extending your mind, and body. Looking for the patterns and less trodden pathways. Stop once in a while and take a photo, or two. There’s a lesson waiting behind most of where we chose to focus our attention.
